Hi Jamie. It's a pitty you don't have more easy question to me, :-). I don't know the answer. It is very nice song, sung in English at this CD. I can't translate most of it, but I remember at least the sence of CZ version ... it is, as Czech folk songs usually are, about suffering from love. I try to find CZ mp3 file of this song, for you to compare the feeling.
Yours XXL Pavel

Hey Pavel, I found the lyrics in Czech on the internet! Will this help? Thanks for trying. You are a dear.

Čechomor - Proměny

Darmo sa ty trápíš
Můj milý synečku
Nenosím já tebe
Nenosím v srdéčku
A já tvoja nebudu
Ani jednu hodinu

Copak sobě myslíš
Má milá panenko
Vždyť ty si to moje
Rozmilé srdénko
A ty musíš býti má
Lebo mi tě pán búh dá

A já sa udělám
Malú veveričkú
A uskočím tobě
Z dubu na jedličku
Přece tvoja nebudu
ani jednu hodinu

A já chovám doma
Takú sekérečku
Ona mi podetne
Dúbek i jedličku
A ty musíš býti má
Lebo mi tě pán búh dá

A já sa udělám
Tú malú rybičkú
A já ti uplynu
Preč po dunajíčku
Přece tvoja nebudu
Ani jednu hodinu

A já chovám doma
Takovú udičku
Co na ni ulovím
Kdejakú rybičku
A ty přece bude máš
Lebo mi tě pán búh dá

A já sa udělám
Tú velikú vranú
A já ti uletím
Na uherskú stranu
Přece tvoja nebudu
Ani jednu hodinu

A já chovám doma
Starodávnú kušu
Co ona vystřelí
Všeckým vranám dušu
A ty musíš býti má
Lebo mi tě pán búh dá

A já sa udělám
Hvězdičkú na nebi
A já budu lidem
Svítiti na zemi
Přece tvoja nebudu
Ani jednu hodinu

A sú u nás doma
Takoví hvězdáři
Co vypočítajú
Hvězdičky na nebi
A ty musíš býti má
Lebo mi tě pán búh dá

The Czech lyrics sounds very gentle, I hope my artless translation doesn't harm it too much. It is about an arguments between girl and boy. Boy wants to get a girl, and she defends herself:

You writhe with in vain
My love son (boy)
I don’t have you
on my heard
I will not be your
Neither any hour

What do you mean about
My love girl
You are my cute heard
You must be mine
Lord will give you to me

I will transform myself to a little squirrel
And I escape to you from an oak to a fir
I will not be your
Neither any hour

I have at home
A good axle
It cuts
Oak and also the fir
You must be mine
Lord will give you to me

I will transform myself to a little fish
And I will swim away
along Dunaj (name of the river)
I will not be your
Neither any hour

I have at home a fish-hook
I can catch any fish
And you must be mine
Lord will give you to me

I will transform myself
to a big crowand
I fly off
to a Hungarian direction
I will not be your
Neither any hour

And I have at home an old cross-bow
that can kill soul (viability)
of all crows
And you must be mine
Lord will give you to me

And I transform myself to a star on sky
and I will shine to all people around the Earth
I will not be your
Neither any hour

And they are such astronomers
that can calculate
stars on sky
And you must be mine
Lord will give you to me

Jane

Pavel, I am not at all joking when I say that you are the best. It's a beautiful song. Thank you so much!

Pavel

What a lovely song.

Meanwhile, I too have been indulging in a lot of Interpol as of late, so the Monkey has excellent taste.

I'm with you there for All The Love in the World and 3 Libras.

The first time I heard ATLITW, it caught me off guard. So light; so poppy. Largely disregarded by many a NIN fan as a blemish, this album, in many ways was Trent's f*ck you album to Interscope and every single person who said we was finished after 'The Fragile'. He proved that a) he could make radio-friendly music and that b) it didn't necessarily translate into higher sales. Now that he's free of a label, I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
