Jacob and I had to leave the Czech Republic for at least half an hour this weekend to renew our tourist visas, so we took and overnight trip to Dresden -- two hours from Prague by train -- this weekend, with our darling friends, Matt and Leona.
Here's what Dresden looks like:
Yeah. It's freaking beautiful. Though, it's worth noting that the entire city was destroyed completely in one night of bombing in the last days of WWII, in 1945. All the incredible Baroque splendor was rebuilt after the war using what they could of the rubble, and replicating the rest.
We spent the day wandering through Christmas markets with the most beautiful little handmade Christmas fineries, admiring all the good-looking Germans, and enjoying the scent of hot wine, bratwurst and gingerbread. Seriously.
I like Germany.
